The Consumption local television

10.3 million French people aged 15 and over who own a television watched a local television channel at least once between September 2022 and June 2023. This figure represents 30% of those surveyed. Every week, 5 million people watch at least one local television channel. Furthermore, this Médiamétrie study enables local television to be positioned within its competitive environment and its performance to be measured.

The influencers seen by the French

Only a third of French people trust recommendations from influencers. However, many of them follow all kinds of content created by these influencers, mainly in the areas of: cooking (47%), culture (43%), travel (39%) and sport (38%). This has led one-third of them to discover a product and a quarter to purchase it.

In short, 6 out of 10 French people – or 61% – believe that content on social media has a significant influence on society. This view is particularly prevalent among 15- to 24-year-olds (71%).

The ACPM has updated the figures for the eight major daily newspapers. The figures show that in July, they sold 2.17 million copies and recorded 842 million visits to their websites and apps. The six national dailies, meanwhile, saw a further increase this month of 0.611% compared with July 2022.
